This morning at 6:00 my alarm turned on to z93.7, playing break your heart by taio Cruz. I tossed and turned myself back to sleep. At about 6:38, my father walked in and said "I just looked at the Mt. Rose website, and the top of the hill is closed. Do you still want to go?" The night before I was suffering from a sore throat so skiing was an iffy thing. All I really wanted to do was sleep, because I still had my sore throat. He left, and went back to bed. At 7 i woke up again, but went back to sleep. At 9 my dad came in and shouted "UP!" I stumbled out to the living room in my PJ's, and a bad case of bed head. I asked him if he would make pancakes.
He got his red jacket from West pointe on to go get the paper. I rushed to the computer to check my email. My best friend Jessie told me she sent me a really long email about her complicated day. I didn't think it would be that long, but I couldn't finish by the time my dad got back. I knew I had to clean my room before anything else that day. I was picking up the chewed up package of gum that my two dogs, Muffin and Kona decided to chew up and leave the paper and wrappers all over my floor. Three packs of really yummy gum too! It was the new Trident Desserts in mint chip, strawberry short cake, and key lime pie. I had chewed one piece of mint chip, and the rest was in my purse. I guess that's what I get for keeping my purse on the floor and my door wide open.
My dad announced that breakfast was on the table. Warm pancakes (some still raw in the middle, but whatever) with whipped cream. I was reading the Sunday comics when my best friend Brianna, also known as Bricock (Brianna Peacock, Brianna + Peacock= Bricock) texted me that she wanted to kill pancakes in her mouth. the text read
Me: I'm just waiting on my dad to make pancakes!
Bricock:PANCAKES!!!!! NOM NOM!!!!!! KILL THE PANCAKES!!
I texted Jessie that she was right about Bri. This wasn't the first time she talked about killing. On a Saturday afternoon, when it was still bright and sunny, two of my best friends, Hannah and Shannon, and I wanted to watch Paranormal Activity. I thought it was all bogus until that night. My door swung open and I heard footsteps. I couldn't see anybody, until I felt my daschund jump up on my bed. I posted the whole thing on buzz (mini face book type thing connected through GMail) and bri posted:
Brianna Peacock: muffin kill!!!
Jessie Montgomery: bri, i signed you up for a killing therapy session with a therapist. you are going to miss ballet, but it is for your own good.
Brianna Peacock:NOOOOOOO!!
After breakfast I went back to cleaning my room, and Jessie texted me that she wanted me to come shopping with her for her dress for the dance. I ran out to my dad, who was sitting on our leather reclining couch, watching the Indy car race in St. Peters burg, Florida. he said he would think about me shopping after i got my room clean.
If you have ever seen my room you know there is no dresser. So if I have something that can't be hung up (i.e. socks) i have baskets that i shove under my bed. i threw all my dedicates and socks into the baskets, my jewelry into my jewelry box, and some other stuff that doesn't go under there like books and papers.
After my room looked OK, i went into my bathroom to clean and fix my bed head. I threw on some makeup to I don't look like the green creature on the wing of the plane In the twilight zone. i told my dad i needed a ride, and he made me vacuum my room, put the mop away, fold some blankets, and more chores that seemed to take forever. wen we were in the car to go to the mall, i soon realized did not know what store we were meeting Jessie at. i called her and found out they were only about three streets ahead of us. so she called when they were in the parking lot in front of Macy's. i was just turning in to the parking lot. i saw two girls in the lot, and realized my other best friend, Meade, was there.
A while back, Jessie, Meade, and I went skiing/snowboarding at mt. rose. the night before we went sledding in my neighbor hood. we saw some geese and stated saying "goose!!" to the geese. so when i heard someone in the background shouting that, i knew it was Meade.
My dad was driving towards a Canadian goose, and Jessie and Meade were chasing my dads car. i soon hopped out, and gave my dad an air hug from the outside of the car. Jessie, Meade and i ran back to Jessie's mom, Lori's car. we headed inside of Macy's, and while Lori was downstairs in the women's section, Jessie, Meade and i went upstairs to the juniors section tthat crazy. just really skimpy and slutty. the top was strapless, with a big sequined black bow, and a Chanel pink skirt. it didn't zip in the back and it looked trampy.
Meade is hard core, and loves green. she doesn't wear alot of pink, and definitely not dresses. she is a tomboy, and lives with 4 brothers, so if you lived with 5 guys (including her dad) you would be a tomboy, too. her crazy dress was long, pink, bedazzled, and five sizes to big. definitely crazy!
i then tried on my military inspired dress, the one Meade grabbed one of, too. it was an OK dress, and definitely not worth $50. Meade tried on a one sleeved dress which she looked adorable in. Jessie came out in some other dresses, but none of them were right. Meade then tried on the military dress, Jessie tried on a turquoise and yellow watercolor poppy dress, and i tried on the dress i fell in love with. it was a long black maxi dress with a huge poppy on the bottom. it made me look 5'10"! Lori came in and said i should get it, but it was ll the money i had, and i already had a dress for the dance. Jessie ended up getting the yellow and blue poppy dress.
we all wanted to go to Rue 21 because Jessie and i had never been in there. After running across the mall, we came in, out of breath, but ready to shop. we had about 10 minutes to look around. i b lined to the jewelry section, found really big earrings, but found the perfect ones. the are brass owls and have peacock feathers on the. the were only $5, so i rushed over to the checkout counter and grabbed a twenty out of my wallet. Meade and Jessie didn't find anything, so they started walking towards the door. we started running back towards Macy's when it hit me. running to Macy's would look like we were shop lifting, so we slowed to a power walk.
when we got to Macy's we met up with Lori and i called my dad to get a ride. as we were heading to the car i realized he was not there. i went to their car with them, and said my thank yous and goodbyes. i walked back to the store and tried to it on the rounder, but the bush was poking in my back and i started texting my friends to not be sitting and be bored. in what seemed like forever, my dad came. when i went home i started blogging. and i have been writing since.
love,
Maddie
